This year, Cumberland Caverns celebrates 60 years of welcoming guests to experience the wonders of a magnificent world hidden deep beneath the earth’s surface. We have come a long way since opening our cave to visitors in 1956, but a couple of things will never change- providing ultimate adventures and making memories that last a lifetime!
We would like to invite you to come and see for yourself the extraordinary sights and formations just waiting to be rediscovered by you, your family and friends. Spend the day listening to stories of the explorers that came before, our connection to the Civil War, and many exciting tales of how the cave’s geological wonders came into existence.
Daytime Caving Adventures
Cumberland Caverns has several daytime spelunking tour options as well for every level of adventurer. Our spelunking trips are designed for ages 6 and up and take you through some of the most loved areas of the cave and with names like Lemon Squeezer, Bubblegum Alley and Tucker’s Tunnel you are guaranteed to have fun!
Caveman Campouts
If you are looking for a little more excitement, take your camping trip to the next level inside the cave. Avoid the heat, bugs and hassle of pitching a tent when you and your group join us 333 feet below ground. Not only will you get to sleep in a cave (HOW COOL IS THAT?), you will witness beautiful sights and formations, enjoy game time with your group, embark on a real spelunking adventure, and top it all off with a delicious breakfast the next morning. Wow! Now you’re not just camping, you are creating memories!!
