There are many different ways to reach World Famous Cumberland Caverns. Below you will find several options of ways to guide you to Tennessee's Largest Show Cave.

Cumberland Caverns is located in the heart of Middle Tennessee, centrally located between Nashville, Chattanooga and Knoxville. We are located just off of Hwy. 8, six miles southeast of McMinnville via US hwy 70 between Nashville and Knoxville or via hwy 55 from I-24 at Manchester between Nashville and Chattanooga. We are 30 miles west of Fall Creek Falls State Park near Spencer, 20 miles southwest of Rock Island State Park and 25 miles northwest of Savage Gulf State Natural Area (The Stone Door).

From Nashville: Interstate 24 East to Exit 111 at Manchester (McMinnville exit). Highway 55 North to McMinnville. You now have three options.

• Most Direct "Google" Way: 12.4 Miles on TN-55N, Right on S. Fair St/TN-287, 5 miles to Left on TN108/127, 7 miles to Shellsford Rd/TN-127, 3.6 miles to TN-8, 3 Miles to left on Dark Hollow Road, 1 Mile to left on Cumberland Caverns Road.
• Best Way: 18.5 miles on TN-55N to right on TN-55 Business (N. Chancery), 3.5 miles to Right on TN 56 (West Colville), 1.7 miles to left on Hwy 8, 4 miles to left on Dark Hollow Road, 1 Mile to left on Cumberland Caverns Road.
• Most Scenic & Easiest Way: 29 miles on TN-55N (will become US-70S) to right on TN-30, immediate right on TN-127, 3 miles to left on Old Shellsford Rd, 1.3 miles to left on TN-8, 1.5 miles to left on Dark Hollow Road, 1 Mile to left on Cumberland Caverns Road.

And now for something completely different:
From Nashville on I-40 : Interstate 40 Southeast to Exit 239A (Watertown) 34 Miles to Smithville, Right on TN-56 (South Congress Blvd), 20 miles through McMinnville to left on TN-56 (Colville St), 1.7 miles to left on Hwy 8, 4 miles to left on Dark Hollow Road, 1 Mile to left on Cumberland Caverns Road.

From Chattanooga: Coming from Chattanooga, it is so quick and easy to get to Cumberland Caverns. And you will be traveling on some of the best and most scenic roads in Tennessee.

• Best Way: Hwy. 27 North (Exit 178 on I-24W), 23 miles then continue on TN-111 north, Left on TN-8, 15.5 miles to right on Dark Hollow Road, 1 Mile to left on Cumberland Caverns Road.

From Knoxville:

• Most Direct "Google" Way: Interstate 40 West to Exit 288 (Cookeville) to TN-111,Left on TN-111 South through Sparta, 19 miles to merge onto US 70S to McMinnville, 18 miles to left on TN-30,immediate right on TN-127, 3 miles to left on Old Shellsford Rd, 1.3 miles to left on TN-8, 1.5 miles to left on Dark Hollow Road, 1 Mile to left on Cumberland Caverns Road.
• Most Scenic Way: Interstate 40 West to Exit 317 (Crossville), Left to US-127, 3 miles to right on US-70 (Elmore Rd.), 28 miles through Sparta to left on TN-111/US-70S, continue on US 70S to McMinnville, 18 miles to left on TN-30,immediate right on TN-127, 3 miles to left on Old Shellsford Rd, 1.3 miles to left on TN-8, 1.5 miles to left on Dark Hollow Road, 1 Mile to left on Cumberland Caverns Road.
