Birds of Prey

Birds of Prey Show 2018

Learn More About The Birds Of Prey Show

People often ask “what animals can you find inside Cumberland Caverns?” It’s not very often we can reply “birds and snakes have been discovered inside the Volcano Room,” but for three more dates in 2018, that will be our answer as the Birds of Prey take the stage.

Monica Johnson, Park Ranger at Cumberland Mountain State Park, joins us for an hour-long program to introduce and educate guests on the types of predatory birds and snakes found in Tennessee.

Visitors are encouraged to participate by answering questions for prizes, and various feathers, bones, and props are sent around the room for a unique, hands-on experience.

Dates: May 5, August 25, October 6
All shows begin at 4:00 pm CST

Live Music Returned To The World Famous Volcano Room With Front Country & Jon Stickley Trio

Front Country & Jon Stickley Trio Opened The New Cumberland Caverns Live Concert Series On Feb. 3

The original musical adventure 333 feet below returned for the New Cumberland Caverns Live series! On February 3, Cumberland Caverns welcomed Front Country and Jon Stickley Trio in the World Famous Volcano Room. It was an incredible start to the 2018 concert season!

Front Country

Front Country hails from the west coast and was recently named one of the “10 New Country Artists You Need to Know” in Rolling Stone Magazine. Lead singer Melody Walker won best female vocalist in 2016’s International Bluegrass Music Association “Momentum Awards” for up-and-coming acts. She also wrote eight of the 12 songs on Front Country’s current album, Other Love Songs.

Jon Stickley Trio

“I am extremely excited to play the Cumberland Caverns… I’ll never forget visiting there years ago. You walk into a hole in the ground, down a long, winding cavernous hallway of stone amongst stalactites, stalagmites, and all the other strange underground oddities and mysterious wonders. Just when you think you’ve gone too far, the cave opens up into an enormous, hidden amphitheater with sound like you’ve never heard before. When we started the Trio, it was one of the first venues on our bucket list, and I absolutely cannot wait to hear our music bounce off the rocks and ring through the caves!”

World Famous Volcano Room

This legendary room 333’ below the surface, has caught the attention of the music industry and entire world for its near-perfect acoustics presented with a backdrop of amazing formations and unsurpassed beauty. Welcome Front Country and Jon Stickley Trio to Cumberland Caverns on February 3, 2018 at 1 PM in the World Famous Volcano Room.

Mysterious Footprints

Spirit of the Caverns FootprintsStories have circulated for years about the appearance of bare footprints appearing inside Cumberland Caverns in the 10-acre room and beyond. The footprints always spring up from nowhere, without a beginning or an end. They appear where no living soul has been for days. The footprints also lead and then vanish, into nothingness. Some are very distorted while others are near perfect. Often there’s only one print and other times there’s a cluster of uncertainty going in many directions all at once. Join us to see these mysterious footprints for yourself!
