Here at Cumberland Caverns we pride ourselves on stewardship of the longest show cave in Tennessee – OVER 27 MILES OF PASSAGE! We take our duties of sharing the wonderful world of caves with the public seriously. Our cave crew is committed to not only showing you how beautiful caves are, but also making sure everyone knows what a precious natural resource these places are. Conservation through education and experience, that is our goal! After all, Tennessee has THE MOST CAVES in the entire nation, over 11,800 as of the last Tennessee Cave Survey meeting.
In order to accomplish that goal we try to offer a tour to suit just about anyone’s interest and physical competency level. Whether you are looking for a casual stroll to learn about history or an adrenaline-inducing adventure that will get your heart rate up, or anything in-between, we have a tour! There are a few folks out there who are extra committed to cave exploration and want to see and learn about ALL things cave. These are the cave connoisseurs, if you will. The cream of the crop. The ULTIMATE cave explorer.
While putting all of our collectable ticket stubs in your scrap book may have been cool enough, now we have a NEW way to document your experiences in Tennessee’s BIGGEST show cave: A PASSPORT BOOK!
Not only does it include fun information about caving safely, cave conservation and a description of each tour, it has pages for your to journal your experiences, a spot for you to get the STAMP of completion for each of the 7 tours included in the book, AND it comes with prizes when you successfully complete all of the tours.
Here is the challenge, should you choose to embark:
1-Get a Cumberland Caverns passport either in the gift shop or add it to your cart when booking your tour.
2-Go on THREE walking cave tours, which must include
b) Discovery or Hidden Gems and
3- Go on FOUR adventure cave tours (or overnight packages) which must include
a) Hall Crawl (or the Overnight package equivalent, Muddy Mayhem)
b) Higgenbotham’s Hollow (or the Overnight package equivalent, Skylight Sleepover)
c) The Crucible (or overnight package Into the Dark) and
d) Guts & Glory (or overnight equivalent, Lights Out).
Once you have filled your passport with all 7 stamps listed above you get access to an EXCLUSIVE t-shirt, only available to those who have been on ALL of those tours. You also get your photo on our WALL OF FAME in our gift shop. Yes, we will ask you to autograph your photo, because if you complete this challenge you are extraordinary and probably gonna be famous one day…if you aren’t already.
