This tour will venture into Cumberland Caverns purely by lantern light! Experience TRUE darkness, recreate the effect that gave the Volcano Room it’s name, learn about the tales of early explorers including some spine-tingling tales of past cave explorers, learn about the science of the dark and see Cumberland Caverns in a whole new light. WARNING: This is a low-light experience – it is NOT recommended for those with mobility or vision limitations.
If you have never been to Cumberland Caverns before, be sure to also take one of our other walking tours! Since this tour is by lantern light and our cave is GIGANTIC you won’t be able to see all the amazing, HUGE formations- Check out either the DISCOVERY or CARDWELL walking tours to compliment your LANTERNS-ONLY experience!
Please note that you must be checked-in for all tours a MINIMUM of 15 minutes ahead of tour departure time.
The Lanterns & Legends is only offered on certain days as the last tour of the day. Advance booking HIGHLY recommended as this tour is limited in capacity! You must book online at least 2 hours prior to departure! IF there are any spots left on tours that are less than 2 hours away can they only be purchased in person, 1st come, 1st served.
